Frequently Asked Questions

We believe strong client relationships begin with clarity. The information below outlines our approach, expectations, and engagement model so you can thoughtfully determine whether our firm is the right long-term partner for your needs.

Determining Fit

How do I know if your firm is the right fit?

Our firm is best aligned with individuals and business owners who value proactive guidance, organized processes, and timely communication. We partner with clients seeking a thoughtful, long-term advisory relationship rather than a purely transactional tax experience.

Do you accept all prospective clients?

To preserve the quality, responsiveness, and personal attention our clients expect, we intentionally maintain a focused client base. As a result, we onboard a limited number of new client relationships each year and prioritize working with those who view their CPA as a strategic advisor.

If another firm may be better suited to your needs, we are always happy to point you in the right direction.

Getting Started

How do I begin working with your firm?

The first step is completing our consultation form so we can understand your situation at a high level. From there, we will schedule a brief introductory conversation to discuss your needs, answer questions, and determine whether there is strong mutual alignment.

Our onboarding process is designed to be smooth, organized, and respectful of your time.

What information should I provide when reaching out?

A brief overview is helpful, including:

• Whether you are an individual or a business owner

• Any recent or upcoming financial changes

• The services you are seeking

• Anything unique about your tax situation

Providing this context allows us to prepare thoughtfully and guide you toward the appropriate next step.

Services & Engagement Model

What services do you provide?

Our services are designed to support clients as their financial lives evolve and may include:

• Individual and business tax preparation
• Proactive tax planning
• Advisory and consulting services
• Entity structure guidance
• Transaction support
• Retirement-related tax strategy

We approach every engagement with the goal of helping clients remain informed, prepared, and better positioned for future financial decisions.

Do you offer one-time tax preparation?

While we occasionally support standalone engagements, our firm is structured to prioritize ongoing client relationships. This allows us to provide more meaningful guidance and continuity over time.

Working Together

What is your client service philosophy?

Effective tax guidance begins with understanding each client’s broader financial picture. Our approach emphasizes proactive communication, thoughtful analysis, and a commitment to long-term partnership.

Rather than reacting after events occur, we aim to help clients anticipate and plan with greater confidence.

How do you communicate with clients?

We maintain clear, professional communication throughout the year and typically respond to inquiries within 2 business days.

Secure messaging, document sharing, and return delivery are handled through our client portal to ensure both efficiency and confidentiality.

Timing and Deadlines

What is your turnaround time?

Once all required documentation is received, most returns are completed within 2–3 weeks.

During peak filing periods, timelines may vary based on overall volume and complexity.

Do you file extensions?

Yes. When appropriate, extensions are filed to allow adequate time for preparation and review. Extensions provide additional time to file — not additional time to pay — and we help clients evaluate estimated payment needs accordingly.

Do you have internal deadlines?

To ensure quality and avoid rushed filings, we maintain internal document deadlines during tax season. Submissions received after these dates may be extended.

Fees & Billing

How are your services priced?

Our fees reflect the scope, complexity, and advisory depth associated with each engagement.

Most ongoing client relationships start at $1,000 annually, with many ranging from $1,500 to $4,000, depending on complexity and planning needs.

We believe this structure enables us to deliver the attention, responsiveness, and insight our clients expect while supporting a thoughtful, long-term advisory relationship.

How are fees determined for new clients?

For prospective clients, we typically provide a preliminary fee assessment after reviewing your prior year tax return. This allows us to understand the scope and complexity of your situation and offer guidance with greater accuracy.

Providing your most recent tax return is the most efficient way for us to prepare a thoughtful and reliable assessment.

If your circumstances change meaningfully in the current year, the final fee may be adjusted accordingly. We communicate proactively to keep expectations clear and avoid surprises.

Is there a new client fee?

New client engagements include a one-time client onboarding and acceptance fee of $200, reflecting the administrative preparation and due diligence required to begin the relationship thoughtfully.

Do you bill hourly?

Certain advisory services are billed on an hourly basis, while many clients benefit from structured annual engagements.

Our advisory rate is $400 per hour, billed in 15-minute increments. We will always discuss fees in advance to ensure expectations are clear.

Are quick questions included?

We are always happy to address brief administrative questions. When inquiries require research, analysis, or planning considerations, we may recommend a consulting session to ensure you receive the thoughtful guidance the matter deserves.

Security and Confidentiality

Protecting client information is a top priority. We utilize secure portals, encryption, multi-factor authentication, and professionally managed backup systems to safeguard sensitive data.

Clients can exchange documents confidently knowing their information is handled with the highest level of care.
